An initial introduction to the rules of bowling ...

Each player has a go at knocking down the pins with the bowling ball. In each round, players have two attempts to knock down all pins. A complete game comprises of ten rounds.

The goal is to knock down all the pins, or get as many “strikes” as possible, in one go. As a strike gets the most points in the scoring. Pins which are left standing after the first go can still be cleared with the second attempt. If the player manages to clear all the remaining pins with the second go, this is known as a spare. And if at least one pin is still left standing after the second go, this is known as an open frame.

The result of each frame is noted and included in the scoring.
